You know the downside of writing a local blog?  All these stories, links galore, and never enough time to write about them all much less actually check them out.  But because we love to pass on good things to our friends (ie readers), who unflailingly give us the heads up as well, we’d like to share a few of our favorites this past week.

• Speaking of friends, shouldn’t you already be @ PrideFest St. Louis already?  If you’re like us you have a bunch of friends already there, and we know they’ve been bugging you about that all week.  Plus, you know, we think it’s your civic duty not just to remain informed of public ongoings but to support your fellow citizens and their rights.
• It looks like our summer mp3 mixtape went over pretty well, but to be fair the concept isn’t that original.  We’d love you to join our discussion of what tracks go on a good summer mixtape, but you might want to try downloading one before it melts in the heat of a summer server overload.
• For each of our friends who get out of print, we get another local blogger in print.  Congrats to Antonio French, who is the latest St. Louis blogger to be celebrated in print.
• We hope Delocator.net helped you plan any of your local ventures this weekend, or at least helped you remember directions to Subterranean books.  Almost as soon as we passed along that tool, we remembered the Wheel of Food - the most practical way to make unpopular decisions.  Seriously, it’s (ahem) worth a spin…
